How Are Cohiba Cigars Made?

Renowned for producing some of the finest quality cigars available, such as the Behike 56, Cohiba uses unique maturation techniques to create their famous cigars. The tobacco is grown in the Vuelta Abajo region and goes through an extensive fermentation process to create distinctive aromas and flavours that have made Cohiba so popular.

Types of Cohiba Cigar

There are four lines of Cohiba cigars available, each with a range of formats:

  • Línea Clásica contains six sizes, which were introduced between 1966 and 1989.
  • Linea 1492 contains five sizes which were launched in 1992 and a further size, Siglo VI, which was added in 2002.
  • Línea Maduro 5 contains three sizes which were launched in 2007, each made with a dark Maduro wrapper leaf that was aged for five years.
  • Línea Behike contains three sizes which were launched in 2010 and are considered the most exclusive of Cohiba’s cigars. Their filler blend contains the rare medio tiempo leaf, from the top two leaves of sun-grown tobacco plants, which adds richness to the taste.
